Lee County authorities have seized 360 growing marijuana plants from seven patches in the Keokee and Robbins Chapel areas of the county.
According to Lee County Sheriff Gary Parson, the plants ranged from one to eight feet tall and, fully grown, would have been worth over $350,000 on the street.
The plants were discovered Wednesday while Virginia State Police helicopters conducted an annual aerial search for marijuana patches. Most search sites are selected based on tips from people in the community, Parsons said.
The Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries assisted the sheriff's office and state police with the seizure of the plants.
Parsons asked anyone with information about marijuana growing in the county to contact the sheriff's office at (276) 346-7777 to leave an anonymous tip.

Marijuana prohibition is a complete failure. Stop wasting tax dollars flying around the state trying to find marijuana. This will never succeed in anything but putting more Americans in jail (therby wasting more tax dollars). We spend over $50 billion on the drug war every year and still get nowhere. Let's get real America, it's time to tax and regulate marijuana like alcohol.
LOOKS like Brian's on the list now!
It would be nice if Times News would post where these 7 locations are so that I would know which of my 8 locations are still "safe."
(Kidding!)
