Volunteer High School senior Charles ‘Isaac’ Ringley, 18, of Rogersville, remained in critical condition Friday morning at Holston Valley Medical Center as a result of injuries suffered Wednesday afternoon in a single-vehicle accident on Highway 11-W in Rogersville.
Rogersville police, who responded to the accident first, said the accident could be attributed to wet road conditions. According to a report filed by Tennessee Highway Patrol Trooper Russell Holtsclaw, around 4:10 p.m. Wednesday, Ringley was driving a 1997 Ford Taurus westbound on 11-W near the TRW Automotive plant when the vehicle apparently hydroplaned in a curve.
The vehicle traveled down an embankment, flipped and landed on its top, Holtsclaw added. Ringley was wearing his seat belt.
