Marybeth Irene Kench of Kingsport, and Jimmy Elmer McLain III of Kingsport, plan to be married in the summer of 2010.The bride-elect is the daughter of Thomas Kench Jr. of Newport, N.Y., and Laura Mason of Kingsport. She is the granddaughter of the late Thomas Sr. and Irmagard Kench, and the late James and Mary Mason. She graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School in 2002, and in 2007 received a bachelor of science degree in business with a major in public relations and a minor in political science from Ferris State University, where she was a member of the Public Relations Student Society of America, Zeta Tau Alpha and Panhellenic Council. She is employed by the Kingsport Chamber of Commerce and is a member of the Public Relations Society of America and KNETIC Young Professionals Organization.The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Vicki McLain of Mount Carmel, and the late Jim McLain Jr. He is the grandson of Verdie Lee Christian of Mount Carmel, the late Bill Christian, the late James Elmer Sr. and Julia Irene McLain, and Opal McLain of Kingsport. He graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School in 1993. He is employed at Kingsport Parks and Recreation and Boehm Landscaping.
Rowlett and Fluce engagement
Samantha Erin Fluce of Kingsport, and Rodney Barton Rowlett III of Kingsport, were married July 18, 2009, at Morrison City Christian Church. Bob Underwood, minister, and the Rev. Charlie Eberhart officiated at the 1 p.m. ceremony.The bride is the daughter of Don and Cindy Fluce of Kingsport, and the granddaughter of Marie Fluce of Kingsport, the late John Mitchell Fluce, Dolphine Lyon of Kingsport, and the late Paul Lyon. The bridegroom is the son of Rodney and Donna Rowlett II of Kingsport, and the grandson of Mrs. Lloyd (Ruby Bellamy) Grimm of Gate City, Va., the late Donnie Lee Bellamy, June Rowlett of Kingsport, and the late Rodney B. Rowlett I.Given in marriage by her parents and escorted to the altar by her father, the bride wore a satin halter A-line gown accented with beaded lace applique and a cut-out lace hem with a chapel-length train.Stephanie Fluce, sister of the bride, of Kingsport, was maid of honor.Lucas Rowlett, brother of the bridegroom, of Kingsport, served as best man. Elliot Fluce, brother of the bride, of Kingsport, was groomsman. Ushers were Jeremy Fluce, cousin of the bride, of Kingsport, and David Weinhold of Kingsport. A reception was held at Allandale Picnic Pavilion.The bride received a bachelor of science degree in psychology from East Tennessee State University, where she was a member of Phi Kappa Phi. She is employed as a registrar specialist at Mercer University, and is a member of Morrison City Christian Church.The bridegroom received a bachelor of science degree in political science from ETSU and attends Mercer University Walter F. George School of Law, Macon, Ga. He is employed as a law clerk at Power, Jaugstetter and Futch, Attorneys at Law, McDonough, Ga. He is a member of Chalybeate Springs United Methodist Church, Scott County, Va.Following a wedding trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn., the couple resides in Macon, Ga.
Wagner and Austin wedding
Amber Cherie Austin and Robert "Robbie" Allen Wagner were united in marriage Sept. 19, 2009, at First Baptist Church, Blountville. The Rev. Clay Austin, father of the bride, and the Rev. Allen Sherwood officiated.Amber is the daughter of Clay and Anita Austin of Blountville. Robbie is the son of Bill Wagner and Ester Quillen of Marion, Va.The rehearsal dinner hosted by the parents of the bridegroom was held in Fellowship Park of First Baptist Church, Blountville.Escorted by her father, the bride wore a chapel-length gown with a beaded silk bodice. Her bouquet included pink konfetti, leonitis and terracotta roses.Alison Austin, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were LeAnne Click, Kristie Stafford, Candice Neill and Leigh Vaughn. Bride's book attendants were Alison Horne and Abby Horne.Jeremy Quiring served as best man. Groomsmen were Adam Osborne, Roger Lee, Cedric Wolfe and Troy Wolfe.Music was provided by Jan Seabolt, organist; Rick Osborne, harp, piano and vocals; and Angela Dolinger, vocals.Following the ceremony a reception was held at Banq in downtown Kingsport, where the guests enjoyed a variety of foods and music. Following a honeymoon in Jamaica, the couple resides in Jonesborough.
Kilgore and Widener engagement
Katie Lona Kilgore of Kingsport, and Michael Aaron Widener of Meadowview, Va., plan to be married at 2 p.m., June 19, 2010 at the home of the Widener family.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Dean "Tony" and Donna Kilgore of Kingsport, and the granddaughter of Dean and Donna Kilgore of San Antonio, Texas, and the late Robert and Jean Bayless. She graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School in 2003 and from Lee University in 2007. She is employed at Ketron Intermediate School.
The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Roy Timothy "€œTim" and Patricia Widener of Meadowview, and the grandson of J.R. and Lucille Widener of Abingdon, Va., Edward Childers of Chilhowie, Va., and the late Lillian Virginia "€œGinny" Childers. He graduated from Holston High School in 1998, from Virginia Highlands Community College in 2001 and from the University of Virginia'€™s College at Wise in 2004. He is employed with the Town of Abingdon.
Williams and Trinkle engagement
Melissa Ann Williams of Nickelsville, Va., and Brett Aaron Trinkle of Jonesville, Va., plan to be married at 7 p.m., June 21, 2010 on Folly Beach in Charleston, S.C.The bride-elect is the daughter of Jerry and Donna Fields of Nickelsville, and the granddaughter of Landon and Loretta Vance of Cleveland, Va., the late Alma Jean Vance, and late J.P. and Nellie Mae Fields. She graduated from Twin Springs High School and earned a bachelor of science degree in interdisciplinary studies in education from East Tennessee State University in 2003 and a master of education in curriculum and instruction degree from Lincoln Memorial University in 2009. Melissa is employed by Scott County Schools.The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Stanley and Sherry Trinkle of Jonesville, and the grandson of Samuel and Sylvia Zirkle of Big Stone Gap, Va., and the late Oakley and Helen Trinkle. He graduated from Lee High School and is pursuing a bachelor of science degree in interdisciplinary studies in education with a minor in military science at East Tennessee State University. He served as the recruiting and retention non-commissioned officer for Wise and Dickenson counties for the Army National Guard from 2003-2009 and is a prospective Army ROTC cadet at East Tennessee State University. Upon graduation, Brett plans to work as an elementary school teacher.
