Lowe and McCoy
Kelly Shea McCoy of Johnson City and David Kitt Lowe of Elizabethton, Tenn., were married May 11, 2013, at First Baptist Church, Kingsport, Tenn. Dr. Marvin Cameron officiated the 6 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of William and Sue McCoy of Kingsport, and the granddaughter of Norma Ellis of Kingsport, the late Jesse J. Cummins of Kingsport, and the late William and Nancy McCoy of Kingsport. She is the step-granddaughter of the late James P. Ellis of Indian Shores, Fla.
She graduated from the University of Tennessee and received a Doctorate of Jurisprudence from the University of Tennessee College of Law. At UT, she was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. She has been employed for 10 years as an assistant district attorney by the Tennessee First Judicial District Attorney General’s Office.
The bridegroom is the son of the late Harry and Fumiko Lowe of Elizabethton, Tenn. He is the grandson of the late Charles and Lula Lowe of Elizabethton, Tenn., and the late Kama and Kama Agena of Okinawa, Japan.
He graduated from East Tennessee State University, where he was a member of the Army ROTC and served as a commissioned officer in the United States Army Reserve for eight years. He has been employed for 25 years with the Johnson City Police Department, where he is currently a patrol platoon sergeant.
Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father, the bride wore an Oleg Cassini one-shoulder ball gown with a sweetheart neckline. Ornate beaded lace appliqués adorned the bodice and full tulle skirt with chapel length train. The fingertip veil was trimmed with a beaded stitched edge.
Attached to her bouquet of pink roses and calla lilies was tulle from her mother’s veil worn on her wedding day.
The bride’s attendants were Laura Lowe, sister of the groom, Dr. Jamie Hilton Whitinger, Rebecca Berry Whitaker, Beth Dotson Messersmith, and Erin McArdle. Karen McCoy Honeycutt, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Ansley and Reagan Honeycutt, nieces of the bride, served as junior bridesmaids.
The bridegroom’s attendants were Jeff Jenkins, Eric Dougherty, Aaron Ensor, Adam Williams, and Jeff Wilson. Jason Abernathy, friend of the groom, served as best man.
Scripture readings were given by Lisa Witherspoon, Leslie Dalton, Stana Donnelly and Aimee Morton. Music was provided by Susan Hoover.
Following the ceremony, a reception was given by the parents of the bride at Ridgefields Country Club. Music was provided by Michael Hawkins, DJ. Lisa Tolliver, Posh Productions, directed the festivities.
Following a wedding trip to St. Lucia, the couple resides in Johnson City, Tenn.
Hinkle and Ayers
Hannah Raye Ayers, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Ayers of Blountville, and Steven Arthur (Audie) Hinkle, son of Mr. Steven Hinkle of Kingsport and Mrs. Shirley Bell of Kingsport, were joined in holy matrimony on Oct. 12, 2013.
The wedding and reception took place at Harvest Acre Farms in Limestone with Pastor Jerry Musick officiating at the ceremony.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attended by her sisters, Lily Preston and Emma Ayers as matron and maid of honor while the bridegroom’s nephew served his uncle as best man.
The couple honeymooned in Jackson Hole, Wyo.
The bride is both promotions director and co-host of "Breakfast Radio" for 88.3 FM WCQR while the groom is aviation maintenance manager for Alpha Natural Resources at Tri-Cities Regional Airport.
The couple resides in Blountville.
Dill and Tomlinson
Amanda Dakota Tomlinson of Kingsport, and Seth Braden Dill of Kingsport, were married June 22, 2013, at Thomas Village Baptist Church. Dr. Roy Graves officiated at the 3 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of John and Sherry Tomlinson of Kingsport. The bridegroom is the son of Jeff and Robyn Dill of Kingsport.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
Heidi Feagins was matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Callie Dill, Stephenie McMillan, Amber Jones and Rebecca Stout. Flower girls were Abigail and Olivia Childress, and Zoe Christian.
Garrett Horne served as best man. Groomsmen were Tyler Tomlinson, Luke Dill, Aaron Dill and Skylar Morgan.
A reception was held at Natural Tunnel Cove Ridge Center.
The bride graduated from East Tennessee State University.
The bridegroom graduated from Northeast State Community College.
The couple took a wedding trip to Riviera Maya, Mexico.
Roberts 90th birthday
The children of Elizabeth Taylor Roberts will host a reception in honor of their mother’s 90th birthday from 2 to 5 p.m., Jan. 18 at Yuma Ruritan in Yuma, Va.
Everyone is invited to join them in the celebration of this happy milestone in Elizabeth’s wonderful life.
Schilling and Blalock
Rebecca Marie Schilling of Church Hill, and Benjamin Tate Blalock of Kingsport, plan to be married in June 2014.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. David Schilling of Church Hill, and the granddaughter of Einar Andresen of Kingsport, the late Ruth Andresen and the late Dr. and Mrs. Erwin Schilling. She graduated from East Tennessee State University, and is employed at First Broad Street United Methodist Church. She is a member of First Baptist Church, Kingsport.
The bridegroom-to-be is the son of Mr. and Mrs. William T. Blalock of Kingsport, and the grandson of Roger W. Merritt of Kingsport, the late Ann R. Merritt, the late Joanne Merritt and the late Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Jack Blalock. He graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, and is employed at Canteen Vending Services. He is a member of First Broad Street United Methodist Church, Kingsport.
