Karl Shiflett grew up in Texas with a love for "Acoustic Country" music of all styles. He began playing guitar and singing at the age of nine. His musical influences include Buck Owens, Porter Waggoner, Bob Wills, Bill Monroe, Lester Flatt & Earl Scruggs along with a multitude of others. He began his professional career as a sideman in the 1980's and has been a bandleader since 1993.

Proud Annie Mystery Theatre presents: "Bloodhounds II" which is set in 1930's Jonesboro in the editing office of "The Jonesboro Star" a weekly tabloid of nefarious news. Trying to decide what their lead story should be for their Halloween issue, a staff member introduces the rumor of the "Jonesboro Biter" a vampire-like individual that consumes blood from the unsuspecting populace. When a patron is "bitten", experts are called in to help locate the vampire for interview by the lead reporter. The "Clue Hunt" includes a trip to the upstairs vampire lair where clues to the identity of the vampire are located in a suspected daytime casket of the villain "biter." Identify the "Biter" and win prizes!
All this intermingled with a six-course gourmet dinner "to die for."
A four hour taste experience and entertainment extravaganza beginning at 6:30 pm most Friday and Saturday nights requiring reservations at $42.50 per person + tax, BYOB set-ups available with no corkage fees.
Discounts available for groups of eight or more. Costumes are encouraged. Visa, MasterCard and Discover Cards accepted. Photos will be taken during performances and e-mailed to patrons.

Deltiology, the formal name for postcard collecting, is now the third largest collectable hobby in the world.
The exhibit features postcards from Galax, Wytheville, Bristol, Abingdon, Lebanon, Glade Spring, Preacher Creek, Pocahontas, Gate City, Tazewell, Dante, Sugar Grove, Carroll County, Newbern, Salem, Norton, Grundy, and of course, Saltville.
