The rear wall of the newer addition of the historic Hale Springs Inn gave way at about 12:30 a.m. Wednesday. A resident of a nearby apartment told officials that a low-flying helicopter flew overhead just before the inn's wall came tumbling down.

Bays Mountain wolf pups
