Northeast State Community College Northeast State Community College offers more than 135 programs of study as of fall 2025. The Blountville-based school is a comprehensive two-year community college that provides university-parallel programs designed for students desiring to transfer to another college or university upon graduation. Northeast also offers dual enrollment for high school students, as well as one-year certificate programs and two-year associates degrees for post-secondary students seeking to enter the workforce but not pursue a four-year degree. The Kingsport Academic Village The Kingsport Academic Village is a seven-building campus in downtown Kingsport administered by Northeast State Community College. The Kingsport Center for Higher Education combines the resources of colleges and universities around the region. The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Kingsport Extension Campus The Tennessee College of Applied Technology or TCAT Elizabethton operates a Kingsport Extension Campus in the former Sullivan North High School building owned by Kingsport, also home to the TAC or Tribe Athletic Center of Kingsport City Schools and a planned future home to a 750-student KCS elementary school.
