ROUNDUP: Science Hill uses big second quarter to rout Elizabethton

ELIZABETHTON — Science Hill's defense made a strong statement on Tuesday night. The Hilltoppers only allowed six points in the second quarter to gain a 16-point halftime lead over Elizabethton, then cruised to a 72-49 win. Jabriel Fain led the 'Toppers with 21 points and just missed a double-double with nine rebounds. Stephen Hensley added 19 points and eight rebounds and Darian Jackson scored 10 points. For Betsy, Hudson Pate led the way with 18 points and Nathan Bailey netted 14 more. Dobyns-Bennett 88, Cherokee 49 ROGERSVILLE — All 10 Indians who dressed made at least one field goal in the win. Henry Hill knocked down four 3-pointers on his way to 18 points. Kaden Cutlip scored 15, Garrison Jones chipped in 11 and TJ Maxwell netted 10 points. Landon Jeffers posted a team-high 11 points for the Chiefs. David Crockett 74, Johnson County 45 JONESBOROUGH — Four different Pioneers were double-digit scorers for the game. Nolan Street poured in a game-high 16 points, both Aden Britton and Cam Gouge posted 12 points, Colton Mullis scored 10 points, Dylan Warren and Carson Jennings netted 14 points apiece for the Longhorns. Gate City 68, Lee High 44 GATE CITY — Nine different Blue Devils found the scoring column in a dominant win. Parker Jenkins led the way with 17 points. Zayne Reed netted a baker's dozen, Kaden Houseright scored 12, and Ollie Carpenter made three 3's to end up with 11 points. Bronson Taylor posted 14 points for the Generals while Konner Early scored 10. Tennessee High 81, Morristown East 63 BRISTOL, Tenn. — Reed Miller scored 20 points to lead the Vikings' scoring output. Caiden Terry poured in 18 points, Braden Howard netted 16 points and Austin Thomas scored 10 points. Chance Stokely and Jaxson Archer combined for 45 points for the Hurricanes. Unicoi County 59, Sullivan East 50 BLUFF CITY — AJ Thomas made four shots from beyond the arc for the Blue Devils, leading the way with 18 points. Jackson Simmons also posted an 18-point night for the guests from Erwin. Ryan Hurley led the Patriots with 16 points. Isaac Deel made three triples to score 11 points and Eli Hubbard posted 10 points. Hampton 67, Volunteer 59 CHURCH HILL — Chase Davenport went 4-of-7 from beyond the arc on his way to a 21-point effort for the Bulldogs. Tuff Robinson recorded a double-double with 16 points and 11 rebounds. Colby Clark netted 13 points as well. Amarion Graves led the Falcons with 14 points, Jeremiah Jones scored 13, Griffin Head had 12. Cloudland 40, Happy Valley 37 ROAN MOUNTAIN — Uriah Jarrett poured in 17 points to lead the Highlanders to victory in a Carter County battle. Conner Carpenter chipped in 10 points in the win. Grady Goulds posted a team-high 10 points for the Warriors. GIRLS Dobyns-Bennett 70, Cherokee 66, OT ROGERSVILLE — Reese Haselton put up 20 points, including a crucial 3-pointer in overtime, to spearhead the Lady Indians. Sally McReynolds added on 17 points and Carlee Cradic scored 16, including going 5-of-6 from the free throw line during the extra period. Rylee Sivert dropped a game-high 28 points for the Lady Chiefs. Kenady Deal chipped in 12, as did Chloe Pearson. Elizabethton 53, Science Hill 45 ELIZABETHTON — Jamira Smalls led the Lady Cyclones with a 16-point outing. Rylee May netted 14 points and Addison Bunn poured in 10. Allie Conner spearheaded the Lady Hilltoppers with 12 points. Khloe Sommers scored 10 points. Gate City 53, Lee High 30GATE CITY — Addison Keller led the Lady Devils with 19 points and went 6-of-8 from the charity stripe. Adrianna Lane buried two 3's on her way to a 13-point effort. Allie Jones led the Lady Generals with six points. West Ridge 66, Greeneville 49 BLOUNTVILLE — Carter Jones continued her high-scoring ways for the Lady Wolves as she scored 27 points on Tuesday. 19 of those points came after halftime. Averie Steadman added 12 points as well. Brylee Tullock led the Lady Devils with 13 points and Allison Hayes chipped in a dozen. Johnson County 52, David Crockett 41 JONESBOROUGH — Mackenzie McClain led the Lady Longhorns with 21 points. Audrey Shaw scored 16 for the visitors from Mountain City as well. Crockett was led by a game-high 22 points from Kayleigh Doner. Autumn Wynn added a dozen for the Lady Pioneers. Unicoi County 50, Sullivan East 38 BLUFF CITY — Carly Baxter led a balanced offensive attack for the Lady Blue Devils with 11 points. Both Abigail Vidrio and Danaka Hendricks each added 10 points apiece, and Laney Rogers netted nine. Emma Whitaker and Sophie Johnson both posted a dozen points for the Lady Patriots. Volunteer 75, Hampton 62, OTCHURCH HILL — Despite seeing the Lady Bulldogs force the game into overtime with a 24-point fourth quarter, the Lady Falcons didn't allow a field goal in the extra period. Elisabeth Byington erupted for 28 points for Volunteer while also grabbing 10 rebounds. Rylee Smith netted four shots from beyond the arc to end up with 16 points. Emma Miller also posted 16 and Emilee Mailloux had 11 points and eight assists. Hannah Baird also scored 28 points, as she was the catalyst of Hampton's fourth quarter with 14 points in the frame. Lauren Smith chipped in 11. Morristown East 55, Tennessee High 39 BRISTOL, Tenn. — The Lady Vikings fell behind 21-10 after the first quarter and could never recover. Molli Stuffle led the Lady Hurricanes with 21 points. Hannah Hall added 14 and Kennady Phillips scored 12. Jenna Latham posted 14 points for Tennessee High, while Addie Wilhoit netted 13 and Jasmine Jones had 10 points and seven rebounds. Cloudland 51, Happy Valley 26ROAN MOUNTAIN — The Lady Highlanders jumped out to a 31-10 halftime lead to seize control of the contest. Makinna Shell had 17 points for Cloudland, the only scorer in double-figures for either side. Three different Lady Warriors ended with five points. Unaka 51, Tri-Cities Christian 29 BLOUNTVILLE — Michelle Shields cashed in six triples to post a game-high 27 points for the Lady Rangers. No other Unaka scorer reached double figures as the visitors from Stoney Creek used a 19-6 run in the third quarter to pull away. Ella Jaworski led the Lady Eagles with 11 points. Rural Retreat 43, Rye Cove 39 RURAL RETREAT — Kynlee Lilly posted 15 points for the Lady Indians and Maggie Hale chipped in 10 more. Lexie Holland topped the scoring for the Lady Eagles with 12 points. Both Jalynn Rogers and Hallie Berry each chipped in 11 points.
