Tri-Cities stats: Proffitt the top receiver, Weston leads in scoring

No one has rushed for more yardage or found the end zone more often than Cherokee running back Jayden Weston so far.Through six games, the junior has scored 14 touchdowns and accumulated 1,103 yards on the ground. Both of those numbers lead the Tri-Cities through Week 6 of football season.West Ridge running back Ethan Amyx ranks second in both categories with his 879 yards and 13 touchdowns, the latter of which ties him with Happy Valley senior running back Keelin Releford (650 yards) and South Greene senior quarterback Nash Rader (696 yards). Amyx's teammate and sophomore quarterback Justice Hilton is still third on the rushing list at 775 yards along with 10 touchdowns.Blue Proffitt once again leads the Tri-Cities in receiving yards, currently sitting at 646 yards and seven touchdowns. His quarterback Peyton Lingerfelt now had 1,557 yards through their air, well ahead of the competition as Elizabethton's Rhett Slagle ranks second with 1,089. Tennessee High's Jack Richardson (1,053), Science Hill's Lane Clement (1,013) and Greeneville's Caden Baugh (1,013) round out the top five.Baugh holds the lead in touchdown passes, having tossed 15 so far his senior year. Clement, Richardson and Lingerfelt are in a three-way tie for second with 12 TD passes. Volunteer sophomore Lincoln Wilson (907 yards) has thrown 11, and Unicoi County senior Kolby Jones (970 yards) has 10 to his name.Greeneville's Zaydyn Anderson ranks third in receiving at 543, just ahead of Unicoi County's Avery Hatcher at 543.
