ROUNDUP: Where to celebrate New Year's Eve in the Tri-Cities

KINGSPORT — Several places around the Tri-Cities region are preparing to ring in the new year. Check out some of the places planning to host parties or events on Dec. 31 before the clock strikes midnight. (Note: This list is not comprehensive and events listed are subject to change.) SULLIVAN & HAWKINS COUNTY The Reserve will host a "Midnight in Hollywood" themed New Year's Eve party starting at 9 p.m. on Dec. 31. According to a social media post for the event, there will be photo opportunities, drinks, snacks and dancing throughout the night. The doors are set to open at 8 p.m., with the DJ starting their set at 9 p.m. There will be awards for the best dressed. There is a cost associated with attending the event. The Reserve is located at 201 E. Center St in downtown Kingsport. Krazy Chicken International is hosting a Blackout NYE Party, encouraging attendees to come dressed in all-black attire. The party starts at 8 p.m. on New Year's Eve, with dance music, cocktails, photo opportunities and a countdown to the new year. The restaurant is located at 2301 Fort Henry Drive. 6ix Grist & Grind Brewhouse will have live music and a comedy show lined up to entertain guests as part of their "6ix Rockin Eve." Expected performers include Nathaniel Booher, Brandi Augustus and Chancellor Lawson. A paid ticket includes a reserved seat for the standup comedy show, live music, an appetizer and a jello shot for toasting. The event is for ages 18 and older, starting at 7:30 p.m. New Year's Eve. 6ix Grist & Grind Brewhouse is located at 455 W. Sullivan Street #149. Kingsport Moose Lodge #972 will have live music from Tequila Mockingbird as part of its festivities beginning at 9 p.m. The event page states there will be a food bar, photo booth, party favor and a midnight toast. There is a cost associated with attending this event. The Kingsport Moose Lodge is located at 1213 Stewball Circle. To make a reservation, call 423-247-9109. LampLight Theater (140 Broad St.) will have a New Year's Eve gala. Starting at 8 p.m., there will be heavy hor d'oeuvres available at The Bank. Kingsport Public Library (2101 Fort Henry Drive) and the Sullivan County Public Library's Blountville branch (1655 Blountville Blvd.) will host "Noonday" or "Noon Year's Eve" events. This gives families and younger community members the chance to celebrate earlier in the day. The Kingsport Public Library will have crafts, games, balloons and confetti to countdown to noon on Dec. 31. Those interested in attending can stop by between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. The Sullivan County Public Library's event in Blountville will also be from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Open to all ages, the event will feature a dance party and juice toast. Sparkly attire is encouraged. Rogersville will have its first New Year's Eve celebration downtown this year. As the Kingsport Times News previously reported, live music will start at 8 p.m. with fireworks and a midnight ball drop to follow. Attendees are encouraged to bring a chair and park at First Baptist Church and the Town of Rogersville parking lot. Downtown Rogersville restaurants are expected to stay open late. BRISTOL The Bristol Skateway will host two New Year's Eve events: "Nooner's Eve" and "New Year's Eve Night." From 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. that day, an earlier crowd can enjoy similar festivities to that of the later group. Both events will have a grand march, noise makers and a balloon drop. The evening event will happen from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. going into New Year's Day. There is an admission price and skate rental fee for both events. Bristol Skateway is located at 210 Skateway Drive in Bristol, Tennessee. Across the state line in Bristol, Virginia, the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Bristol (500 Gate City Hwy) and Sapphire Social (801 State St.) have events planned. The casino will host a 1920's event with live entertainment running from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. throughout the facility. Hard Rock Live will turn into a night club with a DJ hitting the state at 10 p.m. and balloon drop to end the night. Sapphire Social will celebrate its grand opening on New Year's Eve. Doors will open at 5 p.m. for dinner upstairs, with all ages welcome upstairs until 11 p.m. The event page states the 21+ club doors open downstairs at 7 p.m. There is a cover charge associated with attending. There will be a photo booth, ice sculpture and balloon drop, the venue shared on social media. JOHNSON CITY In Johnson City, Tiebreakers (1805 N. Roan St.) will have a Noon Year's Eve event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by a Ball Drop Bash from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. that night. Little Magic Bar (121 N. Commerce St., Suite 104) will have live music, karaoke and more the night of New Year's Eve starting at 7 p.m. Holiday Inn (101 W. Springbrook Drive) will have a circus-themed NYE's celebration with a live DJ, circus performances and acrobats, a photo booth and a balloon drop, beginning at 8 p.m.
