Chocolate Fest countdown begins in Jonesborough

Chocolate lovers will be able to sample sweets across downtown Jonesborough during the town's two day Chocolate Fest in mid February. Chocolate Fest is set to return to downtown Jonesborough with chocolate stops hosted by small businesses throughout the historic district, according to a press release from the Town of Jonesborough. Participating businesses will offer chocolate themed items ranging from barks and fudges to truffles and cupcakes, giving attendees a variety of tasting options, according to the release. The event will span two days with four timed sessions and a limited number of tickets sold, according to the Town of Jonesborough. Festival hours are Friday, Feb. 13, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday, Feb. 14, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., according to the release. An adults only option called Chocolate After Dark will return Friday evening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. for attendees 21 and older, according to JAMSA, the Jonesborough Area Merchants and Service Association. A combo ticket priced at $35 includes Chocolate Fest admission and five beverage tasting tickets, the release states. Beverage tickets cannot be shared, and attendees who plan to drink must have a wristband and present a valid ID, according to the release. Early ticket pickup will be available Wednesday, Feb. 11, and Thursday, Feb. 12, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Historic Jonesborough Visitors Center on Boone Street, according to the Town of Jonesborough. Chocolate After Dark tickets must be picked up Friday beginning at 3 p.m. because an ID check is required. At check in, attendees will receive a bag containing chocolate tasting tickets and a list of participating stops and activities, and the bag can also be used to carry chocolate purchases, according to the release.
