Legos, Valentine's crafts and more at Johnson City Library

Here's a look at what is happening this week at the Johnson City Public Library. FOR CHILDREN Babies & Books will meet Tuesday at 10:30 and 11:15 a.m. in the library's Jones Meeting Center. It is recommended for ages birth-2 years and their caregivers. No registration but space is limited; pick up a ticket at the Children's Desk when you arrive. Pajama Party with Your Pediatrician will be held Tuesday from 6-7:30 p.m. in the library's Jones Meeting Center and Polly Peterson Room. ETSU Health Pediatrics will lead activities for ages 3-5, to help them learn how to grow strong and stay healthy. Kids are invited to wear their pajamas and stay afterward for a cozy bedtime story. No registration. Read & Romp will meet Wednesday and Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the Library's Jones Meeting Center. It is recommended for ages 2-3 years and their caregivers. The program includes music and shorter stories. No registration. Little Listeners will meet Wednesday and Thursday at 11 a.m. in the library's Storytime Room. It is recommended for ages 3-5 years and their caregivers. No registration but space is limited; pick up a ticket at the Children's Desk when you arrive. Little Musicians will meet Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the library's Jones Meeting Center. Ages 3-5 learn about music from Johnson City Symphony Orchestra members. No registration. Art Explorers will meet Friday at 4 p.m. in the library's Jones Meeting Center. Ages 8-12 will learn about an art style and a famous artist from history, then create their own artwork in the featured style. Registration is required at jcpl.org/events. Building with the Lions will be held Saturday, Feb. 14, from 10:30 a.m. to noon. Kids of all ages and families can drop by the library's Jones Meeting Center to build with Legos and other materials. No registration. FOR TEENS Teen Homework Cafe will be held Monday from 3-5 p.m. in the library's Teen Space. Ages 12-18 can work on their homework. Library staff are available to help find research materials and snacks are provided. No registration. Teen Book Club meets Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the library's Jones Meeting Center. Ages 12-18 discuss "The Life I'm In" by Sharon G. Flake. The first 10 teens who register get a free copy of the book to keep. Registration is required at jcpl.org/events. FOR ADULTS Adults with Disabilities Storytime meets Monday at 11 a.m. in the library's Jones Meeting Center. Adults with disabilities and their caregivers hear stories and do activities. No registration. A critique-based poetry workshop facilitated by poets Lydia Copeland Gwyn and Sarah Bull is held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the library's Jones Meeting Center. Ages 18 and older share rough drafts of poems and receive constructive feedback in an encouraging environment. Registration is required at jcpl.org/events. Valentine's Day Craft Night is held Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the library's Jones Meeting Center. Ages 18 and older will paint a ceramic pot and craft heartfelt cards. All supplies will be provided. Registration is required at jcpl.org/events. Spanish at Your Library meets Thursday at 6 p.m. in the library's Jones Meeting Center. Ages 18 and older can join the conversation group to practice Spanish language. All skill levels are welcome. No registration. Fiber Arts Group meets Friday from 2:30-4:30 p.m. Ages 18 and older can bring a knitting, crocheting, weaving, or sewing project to work on in the library's Jones Meeting Center. No registration.
