Jonesborough Senior Center to hold annual Valentine's Dance

Locals can't help but fall in love at the Jonesborough Senior Center's annual Valentine's Day Dance. The center announced its Valentine's Dance will be held on Friday, Feb. 13, at the McKinney Center, 103 Franklin Ave., according to a press release from the Town of Jonesborough. The dance will be from 6 to 9 p.m. and feature music by the Greeneville Community Swing Band. The band is formed by a group of local musicians — from high school students and music teachers to performers and professionals — that have played together for more than 10 years. Light hors d'oeuvres will also be served during the event, according to the release. The event will be open to Senior Center members and non-members. Tickets for the dance are $7 per person, and sign-up for the dance will be at the front desk of the Senior Center, located at 307 E. Main Street. The signup deadline is Feb. 6, and has a limited number of tickets, according to the release. Remaining tickets will also be sold on the night of the dance at the door. The mission of the Jonesborough Senior Center is to be a community focal point for people 50 years of age and older, according to the release. It said the center is designed to enhance the quality of life for members by providing a place to be active, fit and connected. The focus is healthy aging through social engagement, physical well-being, civic involvement, creativity and lifelong learning, according to the release.
