Leadership Kingsport applications now open

KINGSPORT — Applications are now open for Leadership Kingsport's Class of 2027, the Kingsport Chamber recently announced. This year marks the 45th year of the program, established to provide opportunities for emerging and current leaders in the community the chance to "explore local issues while strengthening their leadership skills and community engagement," a recent release about the program states. Leadership Kingsport's mission is to develop leaders who give life to community dreams; individuals with a passion for serving and improving the Kingsport community are encouraged to apply. "Strong communities don't happen by chance. They are built by people who choose to lead and serve," Vanessa Bennett, chief operations officer of the Kingsport Chamber, said in the release. "Leadership Kingsport brings together individuals who are ready to make a difference. We are looking forward to the impact this next class will have on our region." The Class of 2027 will begin in August 2026 and conclude in May 2027 — which includes a retreat in September and a visit to Nashville in March. Program days are held on the second Thursday of each month, October through May. Selected applicants will be invited to participate in an interview process. The deadline to apply is May 22.
