Creator Camp to be held at Allandale Mansion

KINGSPORT — Kingsport Parks and Recreation, in partnership with Kingsport Cultural Arts, will offer Creator Camp at Allandale Mansion this summer, according to a recent release. The event is intended for children and teens to unleash their creative talents. Participants can build wild inventions on Junkyard Wars Day, sculpt with clay and wire, experiment with printmaking and painting, and craft everything from friendship bracelets to shrinky dinks and Perler bead creations. Camp will conclude with a free-create day and a special art reception for family and friends at Harvey's Barn at Allandale. During the week of June 22-26, two sessions are being offered. Children ages 6 to 11 will meet from 9 a.m. to noon each day with a reception on Friday from noon to 12:30 p.m. Children ages 12 and older will meet from 2 to 5 p.m. each day, with a reception on Friday from 5 to 5:30 p.m. There is a specific cost per child for city residents, which varies from the price for non-city residents. Campers are encouraged to bring snacks and beverages to enjoy during the session. To register, visit https://bit.ly/4wo8wML.
