Public hearing set July 14 on storage facility use permit

GATE CITY – Gate City Town Council will hold a public hearing July 14 on a permit for a self-storage facility. According to town officials:"Gate City Town Council will hold a Public Hearing pursuant to § 15.2-2204 of the Code of Virginia (1950), as amended, and the Town of Gate City Zoning Ordinance, to consider the following application:Applicant: Billy R. Robinson, P.O. Box 385, Gate City, VA 24251Property: 00 East Jackson Street, Gate City, VA 24251; Tax Map Parcel 146A3-9-6-20 (Account No. 13949); Barker Subdivision, Lots 6-19 & 1/2 of Block B, approx. 1.59 acres; Zoning District C-1 (General Commercial) (Lot beside 835 E Jackson Street)Request: Special Exception and Use Permit for a Non-Climate Controlled Self-Storage Facility consisting of two (2) buildings totaling approximately 18,000 square feet.The Public Hearing will be held on Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at 6:30 PM in the Town Council Chambers, Gate City Town Hall, 156 East Jackson Street, Gate City, Virginia 24251.All persons desiring to be heard may appear at the time and place noted above and present their views, either in person or through a duly authorized representative.
