ROUNDUP: West Ridge volleyball tops Crockett, East sits atop district

BLOUNTVILLE — West Ridge's volleyball team picked up a straight-set win to remain tied for second place in the District 1-AAA standings. The Lady Wolves took care of David Crockett 25-17, 25-18, 25-11 at the Evelyn Rafalowski Athletic Complex on Tuesday. Adilynn McDavid and Kami Clark led the balanced effort with nine and eight kills respectively, with Paisley Grizzle and Blake Frazier adding five each. Adalynn Massie and Katherine Hortenstine totaled 16 and 11 assists respectively, and Nila Horne served four aces while posting eight digs. Analee Horne tallied a team-high 14 digs. Sullivan East 3, Greeneville 1 GREENEVILLE — Makayla Moore laid down 26 kills with seven digs, as the Lady Patriots took sole possession of first place in District 1-AA with a 25-16, 16-25, 26-24, 30-28 victory. Audrey Easley had six kills and 17 digs, with Emily Kelley (18) and Bella Pickering (10) also hitting double figuers in the latter category. Pickering also served a team-high three aces, Natalie Holt blocked three attacks and Addison Pierson two. Jillian Fisher tallied 33 assists while matching Holt with two aces. Tennessee High 3, Daniel Boone 1 BRISTOL, Tenn. — The Lady Vikings collected their first district win of the year in four sets 25-21, 25-13, 21-25, 25-15. Zoey Phillips set a career high for the second night in a row with 16 kills, and her 11 digs gave her a double-double to go with 3 aces. Libby Boyles added nine kills and three blocks, while Karah Smith slammed eight kills with two blocks and 16 digs. Piper Smith passed out 17 assists with three aces and Emma Jones added 11 assists. Emily Curtin contributed 15 digs. Kale Broyles and Kayla Farmer both had double-doubles for Boone, Broyles slamming 12 kills with 10 digs while Farmer totaled 10 digs with 18 assists. Sidney Kestner had seven kills, Evie Byrd (16) and Cayden Huggins (10) hit double figures in digs and Ellaleigh Baker blocked three attacks with four service aces and five kills. Corrie Lyons had seven assists and nine digs. Volunteer 3, Union County 1 CHURCH HILL — Hannah Pendleton laid down 13 kills with five digs and two service aces as the Lady Falcons earned a district win 25-11, 25-5, 23-25, 25-14. Emma Williams hammered 12 kills, and Elisabeth Byington had seven while serving a team-high three aces. Raylie Gray handed out 32 assists, and Abby Haynes tallied 17 digs with a pair of aces. GIRLS SOCCER Dobyns-Bennett 1, Tennessee High 1 (D-B wins) BRISTOL, Tenn. — After playing to a 1-1 draw in 80 minutes, the Lady Indians moved into a third-place tie in District 1-AAA by winning the penalty kick shootout 3-2. Science Hill now has sole possession of first place in the conference. Marley Feldmann, Peyton Eedelji, Keaton Campbell and Courtney Quisenberry did the scoring for D-B. Kaylee Menya saved eight total shots to get the win in goal. Sullivan East 2, David Crockett 1 JONESBOROUGH — Reagan McCroskey found the back of the net on a Val Velasquez, and Cadence Cross got the eventual winning goal with a helper from Reagan Feathers. Sara Doss made three saves to get the win in goal for East. Liz Barrett scored for the Lady Pioneers, who got 15 saves from Alli Orren. University High 4, Gatlinburg-Pittman 0 GATLINBURG — Charlotte Williams put UH on the board in the 32nd minute, with Claire Osborne on the assist as the Lady Bucs picked up a critical district win. Bow Allchurch doubled the advanced almost immediately after the second half began. Anna Reeves made it 3-0, and Maddie Eisenback scored her first goal of the season in the latter stages. Harper Poston got the clean sheet in goal. Volunteer 6, Grainger 0 RUTLEDGE — Teagan Morelock completed a hat trick and assisted another goal as the Lady Falcons took down their district rivals on the road. Raya Kochemba scored twice with one helper, and Ansley Glass found the back of the net to round out the scoring. Emily Walker also had one assist. Khloe Sanders made five saves to get the clean sheet behind the back line of Anderson Ellis, Emersyn Templeton, Danni Guinn, Chloe Fritts and Mali-Ann Cunningham. Greeneville 2, Providence Academy 0 GREENEVILLE — After a scoreless first half, Peyton Vaught got Greeneville on the board in the 61st minute when she finished a corner kick from Kinsley Spradlen.
