ROUNDUP: Science Hill, Sullivan East cap undefeated district runs

BLOUNTVILLE — Behind a balanced offensive effort, Science Hill's volleyball team completed a perfect run through District 1-AAA competition this regular season. The Lady Hilltoppers finished 10-0 and will be the No. 1 seed for the district tournament after Thursday's 25-12, 25-14, 25-17 win at West Ridge. Chloe Conner and Clara McBride laid down seven kills each, and Sofia Pavlovich had six while Bryleigh Scott, Lizzie Clark and Lucy O'Daniel had five each. O'Daniel also handed out 30 assists. Claire Lamb and Isa Dau each netted 11 digs with Kaitlyn Wallace adding nine. Conner and Wallace served three aces apiece. Anna Thurman led West Ridge with five kills. Adalynn Massie and Katherine Hortenstine had nine and eight assists respectively, Hortenstine also serving three aces while Analee Horne netted 10 digs. Dobyns-Bennett 3, Daniel Boone 0 KINGSPORT — The Lady Indians secured the No. 2 seed for the District 1-AAA tournament with a 25-15, 25-14, 25-17 over Boone. Norah Shook hammered 19 kills and served six sacks to go with six digs. Jeslyn Harden had nine kills, and Caroline Smith service four aces while netting 11 digs. Reese Hatcher and Anna Wackowski tallied 23 and eight assists respectively, with Milly Williams adding nine digs. Kale Broyles led Boone with five kills while matching Ellaleigh Baker with two blocks. Evie Byrd recorded 12 digs, while Kayla Farmer (9) and Corrie Lyons (6) led the way in assists. Sullivan East 3, Greeneville 0 BLUFF CITY — East completed an unblemished run through District 1-AA play with a 25-20, 25-17, 25-18 triumph over Greeneville. Audrey Easley logged a double-double with 13 kills and 14 digs to go with her two service aces. Makayla Moore led the offense with 17 kills and seven digs. Natalie Holt netted six kills and a block, while Jillian Fisher handed out 39 assists. Morristown West 3, Volunteer 2 CHURCH HILL — Elisabeth Byington and Raylie Gray both finished two digs shy of double-doubles, but Volunteer came up short against Morristown West 25-23, 22-25, 25-12, 25-27, 15-12. Byington hammered 19 kills, with Emma Williams and Hannah Pendleton laying down eight each. Gray dished out 33 assists, with Pendleton and Trinity Brown both serving two aces. Brown (18) and Abby Haynes (15) led the way in digs while Williams had seven blocks, Byington had four and Pendleton three. J.I. Burton 3, Twin Springs 1 NICKELSVILLE — Meadow McConnell led Twin Springs with 23 kills and three service aces, but the Lady Raiders came away with a 25-22, 25-20, 11-25, 25-20 win. Addison Counts made 12 digs with two aces, and Bella Lawson had four kills to go with her 32 assists. Wednesday Rye Cove 3, J.I. Burton 1 CLINCHPORT — Lexi Shupe recorded a double-double with 31 assists and 12 digs, leading Rye Cove to a four-set district win 25-16, 17-25, 26-24, 25-19. Chloe Davis led the offense with 16 kills and four blocks, while Kendal Osborne netted 25 digs. GIRLS SOCCER Dobyns-Bennett 3, David Crockett 0 JONESBOROUGH — The Lady Indians outshot Crockett 17-0 overall, and 11-0 on goal, to collect the district win. Kaylee Menya and Hailey Cline each scored one goal and assisted another, Marley Feldmann had D-B's other goal and Mary Johnson had one assist. Alli Orren saved eight shots for the Lady Pioneers. Daniel Boone 4, Lakeway Christian 0 WHITE PINE — Briley Barker completed a hat trick for the Lady Trailblazers on the road. Kylee Huffman scored Boone's other goal, and Sophie Ashby dished out three assists with Rheagan Lothridge tallying one helper. Claire Marshall earned the clean sheet in goal. Elizabethton 5, Unicoi County 0 ELIZABETHTON — The Lady Cyclones finished undefeated in District 1-AA with Thursday's shutout win. Zoey McCurry made 20 saves for Unicoi County. Tennessee High 4, Sullivan East 0 BLUFF CITY — Kadyn Kemmerer's hat trick with three goals and one assist helped Tennessee High take care of business against its Sullivan County rival. Finley Hampton scored the Lady Vikings' other goal, with Molly Hutchinson and Vivie Murphy tallying one assist each. Sara Doss made 17 saves for the Lady Patriots. Volunteer 0, Chuckey-Doak 0 AFTON — Khloe Sanders made 12 saves to help Volunteer preserves the scoreless draw.
