KINGSPORT — The Boys & Girls Club Foundation is set to host its annual Golf Scramble on Monday, Oct. 21, at the Cattails at Meadowview Golf Course.
The proceeds from the scramble go back to the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Kingsport and help with scholarships, financial assistance and program expansion, according to a news release.
In 2023, the foundation raised over $7,000 from the Golf Scramble and had over 40 participants. This year, the goal is to raise $10,000 through teams and sponsorship opportunities.
“We have always had a good turnout for this fundraiser, and we anticipate the same this year,” said Jonathan Albarado, director of development, in the news release. “This is a fun scramble that brings people together to have fun, enjoy the fall weather and supports our Clubs effort in helping kids and families in our community who really need our help.”
Entry fees are $100 per player or $400 per team of four. Fees include carts, lunch, gimmicks and prizes if your team wins. The scramble will start at noon and will be a shotgun style start, which means teams will start at the same time but on different holes of the course. Lunch is provided and will be served before the start of the scramble.
Sponsorships are available, and each sponsorship tier provides different benefits and PR opportunities at the scramble. Anyone interested in becoming a sponsor can reach out to Boys & Girls Club Board Member Tony Melson. Contact information for Melson, as well as sponsorship levels and player or team entries, can be found on the Boys & Girls Club website at www.kbgc.org/2024gkbgcgolftourney.
